A message from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Dear friends,

I as campaign coordinator, have received the following email from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Today October 18/2021. This letter has been cc’d to some of the activists’ that the campaign sent heir files to IRCC.

According to following information, all activists who do not feel safe in Afghanistan, need to leave Afghanistan safely.

Next step is to apply for REFUGEE status for self and your family through IRCC website

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

This is in response to your query received between August 17, 2021, and October 18, 2021.

Canada continues to monitor developments in Afghanistan closely and is coordinating its response with international partners. The Government of Canada recognizes that there are a number of people that remain in Afghanistan with a connection to Canada, including Canadian Citizens, permanent residents and their families, as well as applicants under existing programs for Afghan nationals with a significant and/or enduring relationship to Canada.

To learn about the supportive measures that are available, we invite you to consult the following information.

If you, or your family members, are INSIDE Afghanistan:

· On August 29, Canada and its allies have received assurances from the Taliban that Afghan citizens with travel authorization from other countries will be allowed to leave Afghanistan safely.

· Should you decide to leave Afghanistan, the decision to travel is your choice, and we encourage you to take measures to ensure the safety and security of you and your family,

o there are no personnel of the Government of Canada on the ground to assist you with travel arrangements.

· IRCC continues to provide affected Afghan nationals who assisted the Government of Canada, and their families, with information and support as it is available,

o IRCC continues to process applications on a priority basis toward finalization, as conditions allow.

If you, or your family members, are OUTSIDE Afghanistan:

· You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident outside Afghanistan who requires assistance?
